Partnerships

Calvary enjoys participating in several Mission partnerships:

Partnership with Kigoto Moravian Church

In October of 2010 in response to a request from the Kigoto Moravian Church Board of Elders, Calvary Moravian is in the process of forming a sister relationship with brothers and sisters in Tanzania. We hope the relationship will be a tangible way to promote mutual prayer, cooperation and support.

The Rev. Glenna Tasedan and George Tasedan

Glenna and George Tasedan, members of Calvary Moravian, are currently serving in Labrador. Glenna is pastor of the Happy Valley Moravian congregation where she was ordained in February of 2010. Calvary supports the Tasedans with prayer, financial funding and assistance with various projects

Intervarsity Christian Fellowship at Clemson University

Calvary Moravian also supports the work of Dusty Harrison, a son of our congregation, who is serving as a full-time Intervarsity worker at Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina. Dusty particularly works to faciliate Intervarsity's ministry among students belonging to fraternities and sororities.

The Forsyth County Jail and Prison Ministry

Through the auspices of the Board of Evangelism and Home Missions of the Moravian Church, Southern Province, Calvary Moravian is a partner congregation in support of the Rev. Robert Wolfe, a Moravian Chaplain with the Forsyth County Jail and Prison Ministry.

The Antioch Program

Charles Sapp, a son of the Calvary congregation, is serving in the Antioch Program of the Board of World Mission in Sierra Leone, West Africa. This is a forming mission area of the World-wide Moravian Church. Charles is serving from August 2010 to August 2011 in the village of  Luawa-Yiehun where he teaches school in the Moravian compound. The Antioch Project is a ministry of the Board of World Mission which focuses on young adults using their gifts to answer their calls to mission. Both long term and short term opportunities are developed in coordination with other Moravian provinces. For more information and ways to get involved in this ministry, please visit the Antioch Project website.
