Hear
these words from Luke 2:1-7
In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be enrolled. This
was the first enrollment, when Quirinius was governor of Syria. And all went to be enrolled, each to
his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city
of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be enrolled
with Mary his betrothed, who was with child. And while they were there, the time came for her to be
delivered. And she gave birth to her first-born son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths, and laid him
in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

Observe the window
If you had been able to actually witness this scene 2000 years ago, how would you have responded? Would you have spoken to Mary and Joseph? Would you kneel before the baby Jesus or try to touch him?
Is your heart a manger for the Christ-child?
Take a few minutes to be silent
Allow God to speak to you. When you are ready, speak with him. Ask him to give you the joy of Christmas. Ask him to be reborn in your heart today.
Prayer
O come to my heart, Lord Jesus! There is room in my heart for Thee. Amen.
What Child is this?
That lays to rest,
On Mary's lap is sleeping?
Whom angels greet
With anthems sweet
While Shepherd's watch
Are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King,
The babe, the son of Mary.
